Preface

"What a world we live in. I want to be incredibly close to the heart of it all. To live honestly, truthfully and to be completely present is the ultimate enterprise. And right now, I couldn't possibly ask for anything more. I am a very lucky girl."
Those are the words of Dianna Agron. I can't say that I am a huge fan of hers, but I think these words are very powerful. And I thought I should explain the title of my blog, before all else. Because I am , you know. A very lucky girl. I don't want to make this a place of complaining or ranting or pity. I want this to be a place of growth and this title will remind me everyday of how blessed I am.  


Beyond that, I am such a lover of words. My Pinterest board of quotes is titled: "for the love of all words" because I do love them all (except of course for those disgusting words like moist, panties, and supple. seriously, those are gross. English would not suffer with their destruction). I finally FINALLY decided on a major last semester. Yes, it's English Lit. I really should have seen the signs. I mean, I read books like they are popcorn (I have a very very serious addiction to popcorn. I gave it up for Lent. I don't wanna talk about it). I have the dictionary word-of-the-day sent to my phone. Basically, it was only a matter of time before I decided to make it a life long endeavor. And I have this thing for quotes, I love the way words can mesh together to become a lifeline for someone. Words are so so very powerful and when I find that magical combination to empower someone else I consider myself A Very Lucky Girl.

judge away. Circa 11th grade Consider this an intervention. Trust me, I've had my fair share of selfies. But then I graduated high school. high school shopping swag These are some hard and fast rules of those pesky self-absorbed images: 1. Try to have another person in it. I have zero judgement for the visible arm holding out the photography device if there are two faces in the frame. Sometimes you just don't have a third person to take that perfect picture. We forgive you. 2. If a partner is unavailable then at least use a webcam and NOT a mirror. Myspace-esque photography ended at the same time as That's So Raven. A Penny for Your Sin

I heard an analogy recently about sin that I wanted to share as a caution against judging others. I searched online for someone who could put it more eloquently than I, but my google search came up empty.  Imagine that every time you did something wrong, a penny was stacked against you. You lied, you cheated, you drank in excess. Those are pennies stacked against you. Then someone you know committed a more "grievous" sin, according to what some in the world may think. They partook in adultery or gave in to a harmful addiction. In our human minds, those sins deserve higher stacks of pennies. But in God's eyes, He looks down and just sees the fact you both have pennies stacked against you. He doesn't see the height of the stack the world sees. He only sees the one coin on top indicating your imperfection and need for redemeption that you share with the person who sinned "more."  Sin is not measured in degrees "None is righteous, no, not one.&qu

Bachelor Recap Week 2: Did You Hear it's Hannah B's Birthday?

In case you missed the premiere, you can catch up here . In brief, Colton sent home 6 women -- most notably a sloth. The season already tried (and failed) to be experimental with week one where they bounced between various watch parties hosted by franchise alum. In the same vein, they’ve provided Colton with his own personal GoPro so he can take shirtless videos from the comfort of his bed. It’s just as weird as it sounds. This week, we join the remaining smitten women in the infamous sunken living room where Chris Harrison drops off the first date card and then heads back to his trailer to catch up on his Tinder matches. FUN FACT: the Bachelor mansion is inhabited by a real family 10 months out of the year. When filming starts, it is emptied of all of the personal belongings and key rooms are re-painted in ONE SINGLE DAY.
