The Beccachelorette Week Six: Born to Shuck

Becca is en route to Richmond, Virginia with a carry on duffel filled with bridal magazines. She explores her new city in a hot pink jacket. Spring has spring according to the tulips, but her layers are telling a different story. Once her guys arrive, they wrestle on the master bedroom in their suite before sitting down to discuss the impending several days. Chris realizes that this is a redemption week and he's going to need to do some serious catching up after his tantrum in Vegas. Before he can make any lofty goals, he sits on a love seat with Lincoln and exchanges childish barbs. The mature adults in the room exchange eye rolls and Jason excuses himself to get ready for his date!

Ding Dong Date Card: "Jason, life is full of surprises"

Jason and Becca board their private street car and toast to the full day ahead. Becca has always enjoyed Jason's lips so she needed to dedicate an entire day to testing them out. I think Jason drew the short straw on this date. It seemed as if an intern had done some last minute Travelocity "top 10 things to do in Richmond, Virginia" searches and come up short. They started at St. John's Church to meander around a graveyard before crashing the kitchen of Sugar Shack Donuts to ice their own pastries. Next up is the Poe museum and "unhappy hour." Gather an emo group of individuals, forbid smiles, and ban anyone wearing black and you too could host an unhappy hour. As a last resort surprise, ABC has flown Jason's three best friends from New York to a bar in Richmond to meet the couple. Jason really appreciates the gesture and the fact that the date is going uphill from here. They gather around a table drinking beer out of over-sized wine goblets. His friends back up that Jason is as good as advertised when Becca interviews them and

Next up is dinner where conversation quickly turns heavy. Jason's grandmother had Alzheimer's and watching her forget everyone around her, even her son, has taught Jason to really appreciate every moment with his family. Becca relates since she lost her dad when she was 19 years old. She agrees that she appreciates her relationships even more as a result. Based on this deep connection, she offers him the date rose before unveiling one more "surprise": climbing a ladder to get to the top of the clock tower to view Richmond in the dark. I'm betting Jason appreciated the view of Becca's ass in a short dress just a leetle more. Whose idea was it for her to climb first?!

Ding Dong Date Card: "Colton, Garrett, Wills, Connor, Blake, Lincoln, and Chris, let's make history"

Becca greets her suited up gentleman whilst wearing a red pantsuit. They meet George Washington and Abraham Lincoln impersonators before preparing to debate. The Beccalection 2018 is today and the gentlemen are positioned on the capital steps behind podiums. The Governor of Virginia has set aside his stately duties to ask the questions today. He starts off with a softball for Colton: "what is the perfect date in Virginia with Becca? Colton goes for the safe answer. A dog park with a corgi for Becca. The questions continue in this vein before it's Lincoln's turn to answer how he envisions his future with Becca. Lincoln wants to start by letting the record show that he has not once thought of packing his bags. The cameraman ostentatiously follows Lincoln's side-eye to Chris. Chris knows a dig when he hears one and begins to publicly harass Lincoln with his next answer by questioning Lincoln's integrity and character. Thus, the Beccalection debate ends on a sour note before the cocktail party.

Becca enters the evening feeling frustrated and declares the events of the day embarrassing. She lets the group know she is ready to have a positive evening and put the afternoon behind them. Evidently, Lincoln wasn't listening because the first thing he mentions when he gets Becca alone is that he is physically scared of how confrontational Chris is and that Connor specifically asked to switch rooms before.

Ears burning, Chris enters the room for his time with Becca. Becca brings up the red flags immediately and Chris is defensive within seconds. After an uncomfortable few moments, with Chris stating that Becca is ALLOWED to disagree with him, Garrett steps in to check on his girlfriend. However, Becca isn't feeling romantic. She's annoyed and frustrated and dismisses Garrett in favor of some time alone.

Stunned, Garrett admonishes Chris that he has put Becca in a head state and is going to cost them all quality time because of it. Chris doesn't feel like accepting responsibility and would like to cast blame on Lincoln's lies. After Becca gathers her thoughts, she resumes her conversation with Garrett and spends time with the remaining suitors. She ultimately gives the date rose to Colton for standing by his word and treating her like a princess.

Ding Dong Date Card: "Leo, the world is our oyster."

Becca admittedly isn't going into this date as her best self because of the group date drama, but she is determined to focus on Leo and his luscious locks. They meet on the tarmac next to a private plane to explore Virginia from the sky. The views are cool, but the tableau inside the cabin is ice cold. What should be a cuddly moment is lacking heavily. They land and sit on a bench for a bit. Becca vents about the group date and how she feels right now. Kudos to Leo for taking it in stride. He assures Becca that he takes engagement really seriously and wouldn't get down on one knee at the end unless he was sure.

Next up is oyster shucking AKA standing in the freezing water. Becca and Leo both gather their manes into twin top knots before slipping into the bay. Leo says he feels gleeful to be around her.
At dinner they discuss parents. Leo idolized his father and carries a sense of failure for not turning into the pro baseball player his father wanted him to be. He has noticed this sense of failure carry on into his adult life and often feels as though he isn't good enough. Leo lands a rose and a concert with Morgan Evans.

Meanwhile, Chris really doesn't want Leo to come home. If he does, Chris is certain he will be heading for a rose-less rose ceremony. As soon as Leo sits down in the living room, Chris vacates the suite in search of Becca. He roams the roads of Richmond, ranting about Leo's eating habits, before knocking on Becca's door feeling ready to fight. Becca, fresh off her making out with Leo at a Morgan Evans concert high, greets him with a smile and a "what are you doing here" x 8. Chris wants to put them on the right track and feels like the last week and a half have been distracting. He's ready to move forward and can see himself marrying her at the end of this. Becca is skeptical and reminds him that he was ready to pack his bags just a few days ago. Chris asks her to essentially ignore the red flags that he keeps throwing down. Becca refuses and doesn't think they'll be able to overcome their obstacles. Becca offers to walk him out and Chris tries to say no. She says she wants to give him that respect, but double checks that the door is locked after she sees him to the door before admitting to the camera that Chris isn't someone she wants in her life ever.

Becca cancels yet another cocktail party in favor of heading straight to the rose ceremony.
