Bachelor Recap Week Two: Team Bibiana

The race for Arie's heart continues as Arie speeds along a California highway on his motorcycle, reflecting on the women that await him at the mansion. Said women toast to falling in love with mid-morning mimosas and wait for further instructions from Rose Master Chris Harrison. Our fearless leader swoops in with the first date card, to squeals of fear and delight. Chris reminds the ladies that "the hope is that just one of you will be Arie's wife," otherwise they'd have to move this whole show to Utah and track down One F Jef. The inaugural date card reads, "Becca K, hold on tight."

All together now...who IS she?!?!

Arie arrives just in time to swing Becca onto the back of his bike and off they go! They ride up to an AirBnB that ABC rented for the runway show that is about to ensue. Arie introduces Becca to his new BFF Rachel Zoe, the designer. I'm so fashion illiterate that if I was on this date I would have needed some cue cards to inform me who she is and why I should be excited about it. Arie tells Becca that she can pick through some designs and find something for tonight. She models several dresses before Arie says she actually gets to keep them all, but asks her to wear the silver one for the evening portion of their date. It makes her look like a very tall, very slim, baked potato. Next up on Cinderella's agenda, a surprise pair of Louboutin's that she also gets to keep. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! A shady gentleman arrives and says that Neil Lane sends his regards as well as a diamond necklace and earring set. Arie decides that Becca should wear the earrings now and puts them IN HER EARS FOR HER. Quick question ladies, has your significant other ever put your earrings in your ears for you? The answer for me is never and it weirds me out. Becca and Arie kiss and she confirms that he does indeed have pillow lips. Before dinner, Becca swings back by the mansion to drop off her new wardrobe and slip into her foil dress before avoiding questions about a 7 year off and on relationship from Arie. We learn that Becca's father was diagnosed with brain cancer when she was 14 and passed away 5 years later. Consequently, she is very close with her family and Arie appreciates that. Arie gives her the date rose and confetti falls from the ceiling.

Meanwhile, at the mansion, pillow talk about pillow lips ensues.
Ding Dong Date card: Krystal, home is where the heart is.

Krystal and Arie take a private plan to Arie's hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona. He shows her all of his old haunts, including his high school. Y'all, I'm only 7 years removed from high school and I still wouldn't consider that a fun spot to show someone. He then takes her to his bachelor pad where the ABC intern has just finished organizing Arie's closet by color. They watch home videos and look at baby pictures of Arie before he brings her to the Luyendyk family compound to meet mom and dad. Keep in mind this is their first date. After meeting the fam, Krystal is even more nervous to share her family history with Arie. During dinner, Arie asks more about her family. Krystal takes a huge gulp of wine before sharing that her parents are divorced and her brother is homeless by choice. She has offered to help him and he is receptive. Her vulnerability earns a rose and the first private concert of the season by someone named Connor.

When Krystal gets back from her date, she refuses to partake in the mansion inquisition. Instead, she tells them that they hung out in Scottsdale and won't divulge more information. I don't fault her for wanting to keep her date private, but she should have gone about it a different way instead of playing coy.

The dreaded group date begins, this time with 15 people! I'm not even going to attempt to list them all. The ones you need to know about are Tia, Annaliese, Sienne, Bibiana, Chelsea, and Bekah. 15 girls + 1 Arie = perfect set up for a demolition derby. The rules: if your car stops running you are out. Dainty Annaliese tears up because this is her worst nightmare. When she was a kid she was doing bumper cars and was trapped in the middle and it was just awful! Truly tragic bumper car trauma. I don't how on earth Arie kept a straight face as she sobbed out her explanation. I was rolling.

Chris Harrison is picking up some extra hours this week and is one of the commentators for the derby. The trick is to hit people in reverse so as to do the least damage to the front of the vehicle. Seinne pulls out the championship in the end, with Tia from Arkansas coming in close second. At the after party, Chelsea wastes no time in taking Arie aside. She 'fesses up that she has a 3 year old son and then proceeds to throw the other girls under the buys by saying she is more serious about this because she's a mom. Arie gives Sienne some quality fireside time and learns she is a Yale graduate and studied abroad twice. Goals. Bekah and Arie make out and I cringe behind my couch pillow as the ABC bowchickawowwow music intensifies. Bibiana starts to crack as everyone gets time with Arie. Sienne ends up with the date rose.

At the cocktail party, Bekah and Arie sneak off to the front of the house to exchange more saliva and trade variations of "omg you thought I didn't like you?! That's so silly." I would bet money at this point that she didn't pack a single bra.
Disclaimer: a quick google search told me that young Bekah is 22 years old. Another girl that came on the show is 23 so I'm a teensy bit heated that ABC is editing to make Bekah's one year difference a big deal.
The rose holders at the cocktail party are Sienne, Becca, and Krystal. Sienne and Becca respectfully allow the other girls to chat with Arie, but Krystal is determined to follow up with him after their date. She interrupts Lauren B and Bibiana is NOT here for it. Bibiana calms down when she gets a moment with Arie, however Krystal pops out AGAIN to ask if Bibiana minds if she interrupts for a minute. Bibiana, my hero, says "Yeah, I actually do mind." I have been waiting YEARS for a contestant to say that. After interrupting Bibiana and speaking to Arie alone for the 2nd time that evening, Krystal follows a fire-starting producer's instructions to take a seat next to Bibiana. Bibiana, the self-proclaimed voice for a lot of angry people, is again NOT here for it.

Chris Harrison enters the tension-filled foyer to clink-clink announce the rose ceremony. 14 women receive roses, plus the 3 women who already held them, leaving Arie with 17 women remaining.
3 irrelevant ladies take a moment, say their goodbyes, and enter the SUVs of sorrow. Jenna is the last to go and she is in a tantrum. She stomps past Arie and refuses to give him a hug when he asks to say goodbye. Turns out she's never been dumped before and she makes it clear that she's not sad to leave Arie, she's sad to leave all of her friends. Sorry sweetie, sleep away camp is over, time to go home.

What do you think guys? Will Bekah's age be a factor for Arie? Can The Bachelor really have TWO villains in a single season?! Will Bibiana be my best friend? These are the questions that must be answered.
